Hey Ladies!
I am currently co-writing a book on Parenting Adopted Children. If you have adopted or are considering adoption, please visit my new blog www.sandrastanford.wordpress.com and read my story and let's chat. Do you have a question or a comment about adoption?
Also, let your friends know. I'd love to hear from other parents or children of adoption.
I'll let you know when the book is on the bookstore shelves!
Blessings, Sandra Stanford www.sandrastanford.com Continue

We all find ourselves tempted at times with thoughts that are contrary to the Word of God. Sometimes they just seem to come out of no where and we really have no choice but to hear the idea. The question is, what do we do with the thought after it crosses our mind. Scripture tells us that we are to take every thought captive to the Word of God. This means that we must know the Word of God to such a degree that we are able to quickly discern the ideas that invade our minds that are not of God. Je…

I just wanted to share a word of encouragement that God has shown me will happen! Psalm 126: 5-6: Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed but they sing as they return with the harvest. Some of the ways God tells us to handle things sometimes seem impossible when we are facing fears and walking out things with pain, but God is faithful, and if we sow his word into our daily life and certain circumstances instead of "eating it" (ingesting…

Tonight during our "We Love Girl Talk" radio broadcast on Blog Talk Radio (Thursdays @ 8pm EST), the conversation went from talking about the fear of the Lord to how people are afraid to walk in holiness because they think that means losing all their freedom to enjoy life. Immediately it came to me that I had never even come close to experiencing "freedom" until I began walking with the Lord. I was always searching...in bondage to the search and to the sin I tried to satisfy myself from.
Authen…

I love to hear from my sisters and brothers in Christ! It is going to be such a "hoot" when we get to heaven!
Today has been a full day with several assignments due for my Creation Science class, evening prayer at the church and dinner with friends! I am tired but I am blessed. I was just thinking how content I am with the life God has given me. Oh, I don't mean to say that I don't have my times that I am saying, "God, why can't I have this? Or "why can't I do that?" But when it is all said and…

It has been a great summer so far! I am enjoying the laziness of the season. My kids are home, no homework! I have been active as the new women's director at my church. We just put on an event called "Stepping Into Your Destiny". It was an amazing event! The women invited friends, we gave prizes for the best shoes. And, the best part was that many women brought a new pair of school shoes for us to give to some children.
My pastor's wife spoke on spending time in the Word, and I spoke on: Take of…

2 Tim 4:2, "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season..."
As I read this Scripture today, I thought what season is God talking about. After doing some research on the phrase "in season" and "out of season" I discovered that the Greek words of which these phrases are translated from are very similar yet their meanings are totally opposite from one another. "Eukairos" is the Greek word for "in season" while "akairos" is the Greek word for "out of season". As I looked at the meanings of…

This year has been a year of change for me. When I say "change" I mean inward change. I have learned that when the real Christ reveals Himself to us, He first reduces us from being producers to being followers again. It seems that the Lord has had his finger right on top of my heart bringing to surface the things I have tried to hide from His Lordship. As His presence has grown more and more apparent to me as a real "reality" I am in awe of His greatness and my littleness. It is amazing that as…

Hi Girls! I hope everyone is having a good day-mine was great because today was the last day of school for the kids!!!! Hallelujah! Anyway, my time to blog is here- so here goes. I have been reading the book of Jeremiah-a sometimes dry read, with spurts of encouraging words to hold on to. But as I read, I think about God's people today and compare them to the time of Jeremiah. I also think about the beginning of 1 Cor. 10 which talks about God's people in the wilderness that were all guided by G…

My son is through with junior high, officially. He had his 8th grade graduation on Friday. My daughter, has 2 more days of exams and will then be a senior. I am ready for summer!
I love to sleep in, have no schedule and enjoy my time with my kids. Jonathan wants us to read together this summer. It is a tradition we started many years ago, where we take two days a week, choose a time and read, read, read! We just enjoy each other's company and we both enjoy a good book.
Anna Beth and I will fin…

Hey everyone! This is my first official blog post-so here goes! Lately, the Lord has been speaking to me about abiding in him. I think of the habitual lifestyle I have developed of trying to do good myself. Itseems like such a simple concept, but it wears me out, because I try to be good on my own. Many times I have had to reach rock bottom to get to the point where God himself can work through me. I think of how I want to do right but when I try myself I just get frustated and irritated! So, th…

Hello Girlfriends,
We had a wonderful time at the conference. We were a small group to "kick off" this annual event but with limited time to promote the event, we expected that. God was in the midst of everything and I believe every one had a great time! Friendships were deepened and new friendships were begun. You can mark your calendars for next year's event now! It will be April 3-5 at the same location -- The CRown Reef Motel in S Myrtle Beach! They treated us like royalty!
Also, at our pos…

In 2 weeks I'll be in South Carolina for our first annual conference on the beach! I am speaking on how much God loves us and is with us in trouble. I have been praying over the message and am excited about the ideas the Lord is giving to me. He is really a God who "never leaves us nor forsakes us" in good times, and in troubled times. He is an always there God!!!!! Hope to see you there, Sandra

I love Easter! It reminds me of the price Jesus paid for me to have a relationship with Him. He loved me so much, He died for me. Thank You Jesus. I am home alone tonight. My husband is working, my daughter is with her boyfriend and my son is at a friend's home. I am taking time to think, pray and enjoy my time alone.
The Lord has been speaking to me about the verse in II Corinthians 4:7
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.…

Hey Girlfriends! Just wanted to send your way a "Happy Valentine's Day"!
I pray for God's sweet love to permeate your thoughts and mind whether you get flowers or candy or not! Afterall, nothing is sweeter or produces a better aroma in our lives that His love and presence! But for those of you going out for a special dinner with your man, have a great time and enjoy every moment of it knowing that he is a gift to you from the Father! Love you all! Sarah G
